The European Football union has hit Samir Nasri and Arsene Wenger with a one game match ban in the champions league. Wenger has also been hit with 8800 pound fine. they were charged with inappropriate language directed at Swiss referee Massimo Bussaca. In the wake of their nightmare controversial exit from the champions league in Barcelona earlier this month. Bussaca caused a massive uproar when he gave Van Persie a second yellow for shooting at goal after 1 second after the whistle had gone for offside. The dutch striker also claims he did not hear it due to the 95000 plus crowd.
Arsenal eventually lost the tie and were knocked out of Europe in a very controversial way for the second successive season.
Wenger initially stated he would appeal for the ban. Arsenal could of lodged a formal appeal. but the matter will not be taken further.
A statement was release on the arsenal official website read "Arsenal have decided not to appeal against uefa bans against Wenger and Nasri.
